Kathleen Marie Smith passed away on May 9, 2025. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Kathleen's warmth, kindness and spirited nature left a lasting impression on everyone who had the joy of knowing her. Kathleen was the beloved mother of Nicholas (Nicole) Smith and Andrew Smith and the proud grandmother of Bailey, Cara, and Brayden, who brought immense joy to her life. She was a cherished sister to Jacquelyn Dzinbinski, Joseph (Colleen) Dzinbinski, and David Dzinbinski. She is also lovingly remembered by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family members, with whom she maintained close and meaningful bonds throughout her life. A registered nurse for over 45 years, Kathleen dedicated her career to caring for others with compassion, skill, and unwavering commitment. Her strength and empathy were evident in both her professional and personal life. Kathleen had an incredible gift for conversation-she loved talking to people, no matter where she was, and could always make a new friend. Her outgoing spirit and genuine interest in others touched the lives of many. A lifelong fan of Walt Disney World, Kathleen found joy in visiting Florida multiple times a year, delighting in the magic and memories she created there. She had a deep appreciation for classic cars, especially her two beloved Buick Rivieras, which she proudly maintained and cherished. A passionate supporter of the University of Michigan, she could often be found tailgating at football games, soaking up the excitement of game day. Above all, Kathleen treasured time spent with her family. Whether it was a simple Sunday dinner or a large holiday celebration, her happiest moments were those shared with loved ones. In honor of her love for animals, donations may be made in Kathleen's memory to the Michigan Humane Society. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered for the love, laughter and joy she brought into the world. A visitation will take place on Wednesday (May 14th) at the Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home 8459 Hall Rd. (3Blks E. of Van Dyke) Utica, from 2pm - 8pm. A rosary will take place at 6:30pm that evening. A funeral mass will take place at St. Malachy Catholic Church 14115 E. 14 Mile Rd. Sterling Heights, MI 48312 on Thursday (May 15th), where she will lie instate at 10:30am until the time of mass at 11am. Internment will take place at The Preserve at All Saints Cemetery.
