Kathleen Irene "Kathy" Spero

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen Irene Spero (nee Moore), 80, of Rolling Meadows, IL and formerly of Burr Ridge, IL on Tuesday Oct. 14, 2025. A proud Irish gal through and through, Kathy was born in Oak Park, IL on July 12, 1945.

Kathy was the beloved mother of Angela Spero, and Anthony Spero, loving Grandmother of Emily Vining and Connor Vining; daughter of the late Roland Hartmann and the late Helen T. Hartmann, (nee Moore).

Kathy loved being a Grandma. She was affectionately known as May May to her darling Emily and Connor, a title she wore with love and pride. Kathy cherished every moment with her grandkids.

Although Kathy did not have siblings, her aunts, uncles and cousins were extremely important to her and she loved them dearly. There was hardly space on her walls as family photographs filled every inch.

She was a devoted mother, a cherished grandmother, and a dear cousin whose warmth and humor lit up every room she entered. Her laughter, her stories, and her gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

This wild, Irish Rose will be deeply missed by all of us and she will be remembered for her kind heart, sharp wit and unwavering loyalty to those she loved. May she rest in peace, reunited with those who went before her, and may her memory be a blessing to all who loved her.
