Kathleen L. Stevenson, 98, of DeGraff, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 7:29 a.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Ayden Healthcare of Belle Springs in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was born in Piqua, Ohio on November 6, 1926, a daughter of the late Edward Buckingham and Mina (Hoke) Buckingham.
On January 27, 1945, Kathleen married Robert Scott “Scotty” Stevenson in Newport, Kentucky, and he preceded her in death on December 29, 2023. She was also preceded in death by her son, Richard “Dick” Stevenson; daughter-in-law, Shelly Stevenson; and two sisters, Ruth Deeter, and Mary Buckingham.
Kathleen is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Rick) Adams, and Annette Stevenson; two sons, Wendell (Alice) Stevenson, and Ed Stevenson; a daughter-in-law, Linda Stevenson; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Kathleen began working as a teenager at Don’s Diner in Bellefontaine, where she and her husband, Scotty, first met. Their 75th wedding anniversary was celebrated with their family at Don’s Downtown Diner. She later owned and operated Windy’s Restaurant in Lewistown and eventually worked side-by-side with her husband at Scotty’s Auto Wrecking and Liberty Auto Wrecking. Kathleen was an active member of Stony Creek Church and member of the former Ever Ready Club. She enjoyed church activities, flea markets, and belonging to antique tractor clubs with her husband.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 210 W. Hayes Street in DeGraff. Pastor Wayne Downing will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 28th at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made, in Kathleen’s memory, to Stony Creek Church, 3570 County Road 31 S., Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311.
