Kathleen "Shelly" West

Kathleen Shell West, lovingly known as "Shelly," age 59, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on January 30, 2026. She was born on September 28, 1966, in Angola, Indiana.

Shelly resided in Indianapolis and lived her life in a way no one else could-full of life, free-spirited, and unapologetically herself. She was the light of her family's lives and the kind of person who never met a stranger. To know Shelly was to love her. There was never any doubt when Shelly was in the room-her bright smile and infectious laugh made sure of that.

On August 30, 1992, Shelly married Richard West, beginning a life rooted in love and family.

Shelly is survived by her mother, Mary Coleman; her mother-in-law Nancy West; her sisters, Amy Marshall (Derek Marshall); Jill Coleman; and her cherished daughters: Elizabeth West, mother of Jacob and Corbin; Laura West (Dylan Spivey), mother of Ryder; and Julie Stoeffler (Paul Stoeffler), mother of Karsyn, Brennan, Dawsyn, Addisyn, Clark, and Robert.

Shelly was a proud and loving aunt to Alyssa Marshall, mother of Caelum; Skye Peterson (Mitchell Peterson), parents of Tyler and Riley; Alexis, mother of Abbey and Conner; Tanner Marshall; and Ben Coleman (Leslie Coleman), parents of Abby, Maci, and Ben Jr. She is also survived by many friends who became family and loved her deeply.

Shelly was preceded in death by her father, John Coleman; her brother, Bryan Coleman; and her father-in-law, Robert West.

Shelly was the most loving and spunky woman in the world. She made an impact on everyone she met, and her absence leaves a space that can never be filled. She will be forever remembered as "Aunt Bubbles," a name that perfectly captured her joy, warmth, and sparkle.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 11am-1pm at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Franklin Township Chapel, 5950 E. Thompson Road, Indianapolis, with a Funeral service at 1pm.
