Age 67. Beloved wife of David M. Hanaka; dear sister of Russell (Daphne Finnegan) Dye, Jr., and Richard Dye; loving godmother of Courtney Hanaka. Also survived by her cherished cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs. Hanaka worked for 40 years at the Buffalo State College Bookstore where she coordinated many author lectures and book signing events where she met several prominent authors including Hillary Clinton, Oliver Stone and Terry McMillan. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with her family and many friends. Family will be present on Friday, November 14, from 4-7 PM at the (Delaware Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1132 Delaware Ave. (near W. Ferry St.). A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1029 Delaware Ave., Buffalo, NY at 1 PM Saturday. Please assemble at church. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in Kathryn's name to Hospice and Palliative Care Buffalo. Share condolences online at www.AMIGONE.com.

She was a very nice person and it was a pleasure interacting with her when she would visit you at 1088.
