Kathryn J. Wyatt 88 passed away January 22, 2026 peacefully with her daughter Gayle and Greg at her side.
Born on June 23, 1937 in Bridgeport, Oklahoma to Ephriam Dent Dickson Sr. and Lawana Victoria Crossman.
Kathy met her husband to be Gary Lee Wyatt in college and they were married in 1956 in Oklahoma. Kathy now rejoins her husband Gary Lee and two children, Cary Lee Wyatt and Lendell Wade Wyatt who passed away previously.
She is survived by her remaining children Gayle J. Hewitt (Gregory P. Hewitt) and Tina M. Hamilton (Phillip G. Hamilton) and grandchildren, Christopher L. Edwards (Amanda), Eric S. Edwards (Jaclyn), Patric J Hewitt (Amy), Paul A. Hewitt, Summer Hamilton Knight (Brad), Cody L. Hamilton (Sidney), Jesse W. Hamilton, Ryan Lee Wyatt. She has 10 great grandkids and 4 great great grandkids.
Kathy loved basketball. She played in school all the way through college and also semi pro. From there she was a school teacher and when she came here to Daytona she was the basketball coach at Mainland High School for many years. She also taught special education and worked with the Special Olympics. Kathy also worked with the band, diving and swimming teamparent support groups. When she retired from teaching she opened and ran Kathy's Catering and Wedding Shop from 1986 until 2001. Kathy was active in her church working with the youth group and relief society.
Her memorial service will be held at The Church of Latter-Day Saints, 1125 6th Street, Daytona Beach, FL at 10am March 7, 2026.
