Kathryn Lynette King, affectionately known as Kathi to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026 in Kyle, Texas, at the age of 69. Born on June 4, 1956, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Kathi's life was a vibrant tapestry of experiences that reflected her adventurous spirit, courageous heart and strong faith in God.

Kathi grew up in the bustling city of Hammond, Indiana, where she graduated from high school. Her passion for learning and her drive for excellence were evident early in her life and remained with her as she ventured into the world. After high school, Kathi embraced a life of service and dedication, which led her to Colorado. There, she spent over two decades as a paralegal, a role in which her sharp mind and compassionate nature shone through. Her time in Colorado was marked by professional growth and personal connections that lasted a lifetime.

The call of adventure beckoned Kathi beyond the borders of the United States, and she found herself in Oaxaca, Mexico. Embracing the culture and the community, she worked as a legal transcriptionist for eight years. In this vibrant setting, Kathi's love for people and her ability to bridge language and cultural barriers became invaluable assets.

Kathi's zest for life extended to her personal interests. She was a world traveler, a modern-day explorer with all her possessions in a backpack. Her journeys took her across continents and through a myriad of cultures. From the ancient wonders of China and the historic streets of Cuba, to the lush landscapes of Vietnam and Cambodia, Kathi's footprints marked the globe. She savored the spice of life in Morocco, experienced the mystique of Turkey, felt the warmth of Ireland, and traversed the diverse terrains of South America and Europe. Each destination enriched her life with stories and friendships that she cherished deeply.

Those who knew Kathi would describe her as a woman of passion, courage, and adventure. She lived her life boldly, unafraid to take the road less traveled. Her legacy is one of inspiration and joy, urging all who knew her to embrace life with open arms and an open heart.

Kathi's memory is cherished by her loving family, including her brother, four sisters, ten nieces and nephews, and eleven great-nieces and nephews. Her presence in their lives was a source of laughter, wisdom, and boundless love. She was a guiding light, a mentor, and a friend. Her stories, her infectious enthusiasm for life, and her unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.

As we bid farewell to Kathryn Lynette King, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest. Kathi's journey on this earth may have ended, but the impact of her life's adventure continues to resonate in the hearts of those she touched. Her spirit of adventure and her legacy of love will forever be remembered.
