Kathryn Lynette King, affectionately known as Kathi to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026 in
Kyle, Texas, at the age of 69. Born on June 4, 1956, in
Indianapolis, Indiana, Kathi's life was a vibrant tapestry of experiences that reflected her adventurous spirit, courageous heart and strong faith in God.
Kathi grew up in the bustling city of Hammond, Indiana, where she graduated from high school. Her passion for learning and her drive for excellence were evident early in her life and remained with her as she ventured into the world. After high school, Kathi embraced a life of service and dedication, which led her to Colorado. There, she spent over two decades as a paralegal, a role in which her sharp mind and compassionate nature shone through. Her time in Colorado was marked by professional growth and personal connections that lasted a lifetime.
The call of adventure beckoned Kathi beyond the borders of the United States, and she found herself in Oaxaca, Mexico. Embracing the culture and the community, she worked as a legal transcriptionist for eight years. In this vibrant setting, Kathi's love for people and her ability to bridge language and cultural barriers became invaluable assets.
Kathi's zest for life extended to her personal interests. She was a world traveler, a modern-day explorer with all her possessions in a backpack.
