Kathryn F "Kathy" Kladek ObituaryKathryn "Kathy" F. Kladek of Excelsior, born March 13, 1950, completed her earthly journey and joined the Lord on September 9, 2025. A fierce and faithful warrior in her battle with cancer, Kathy faced each day with courage and grace.
Kathy spent her career as a flight attendant with North Central, Republic, Northwest, and Delta Airlines. Her job took her many wonderful places: Amsterdam, Japan, Hawaii She had a deep love for animals and found joy in caring for others' pets, the birds, squirrels, and any other critter that came along. Her back yard looks like a bird sanctuary. Dogs in the neighborhood would show up at her back door looking for treats that Kathy passed out generously. She even fed the squirrels, chipmunks, and raccoons. Kathy loved bingo and never missed a chance to play, especially when it meant spending time with friends. She loved going out to eat, traveling, tending to flowers, and finding fun adventures. Kathy was always up for a good time! Shopping was one of her passions and she always had the perfect gift or card for every occasion. She brought joy and smiles to every birthday, graduation, wedding, and holiday celebration. Above all, Kathy treasured her role as aunt and godmother and made a point to being present in their lives. She treasured time with family and friends and being with people she loved was one of life's most important things to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Florence Kladek; sister Mary Ann Mitchell and brother-in-law Larry Mitchell; and her beloved pets Dugan, Casey, Fanny, and Purrlee. She is survived by siblings Larry Kladek, Pat (Loren) Butterfield, and Tom (C.A.) Kladek; and nieces and nephews Deb (Jay) Kalsbeck, Randy Kladek, Andrea Butterfield, Jason (Christine) Butterfield, Kris (Brad) Cance, Jesse Kladek, and Sean (Sam) Kladek.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sept 24, 5-8pm at Huber Funeral Home in Eden Prairie; Service on Sept 25, 11am at Westwood Community Church in Excelsior. Doors open at 10am.
