Kathryn Moore, 83 of Morristown, Tennessee, went to be home with Jesus on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

Born on August 17, 1942, in Thornhill, Tennessee, Kathryn was the beloved daughter of Rufus and Carrie Goins. She attended Morristown College High School, where she met her high school sweetheart and lifelong companion, James "Bo" Moore Jr. They shared 61 years of marriage together.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Kathryn lived a life marked by faith, love, and generosity. She was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she attended the adult Sunday School class for many years. Her presence brought warmth, light, and laughter to all who knew her.

Kathryn and James were blessed with four children: Renea, Rodney, Rufus, and James Russell. She led by example. Her strong work ethic and sense of responsibility left a lasting legacy for her children and grandchildren. Kathryn retired from Foamex after 30 years of perfect attendance, a testament to her unwavering dedication. Post retirement, she began working part-time at Senior Citizens Home Assistance where she provided companionship and care to fellow seniors. On Saturdays, you could often find her joyfully hunting for the best yard sales in town, a simple pleasure she enjoyed.

Her parents affectionately called her "Kitten". She was lovingly known as "Ms. Kat", "Aunt Kat", and "Nanny" by family and friends. She wore many hats in life and touched countless hearts. To know Kathryn was to love her. To be loved by her was to know her sweet smile and sassy spirit.

She joins her loved ones in Heaven, parents Rufus and Carrie Goins, her husband James "Bo" Moore Jr., her sisters Beatrice Greenlee, Helen Collins, Thelma Simpson, and brothers Earl Simpson, Oscar Simpson, and John Simpson.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, cherished by her children: Renea (Frank) Houston, Rodney Moore, Rufus Moore, and James Russell (Summer) Moore; her sisters Dorothy Wallace, Ann Kyle, Virginia Scott; her brother James Goins; and her special sister-in-law Olivia Goins.

Kathryn was a proud grandmother to 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Her love also lives on in the hearts of a large family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Bethel Baptist Church, 1800 Cherokee Drive, at 11:00 AM. Celebration of Life service is to follow at 12:00 PM, officiated by Reverend Jesse Jones. Interment will take place the following week on Saturday, September 6th, at Hamblen Memory Gardens, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Kathryn Moore to UT Hospice Promise Foundation or Bethel Baptist Church.

Kathryn's legacy is one of love, faith, and resilience. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in all who were blessed to know her.
