Kathryn Ann Peoples

Funeral services for Kathryn Ann Peoples, age 76 of Columbia, will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from the Columbia chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Columbia Hill Cemetery. The Peoples Family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday.

Kathryn Ann Peoples was born on  November 1, 1947, to the union of her late parents, Jessie I. Mitchell and Marion Lorene Mitchell. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Samuel and Emily Mitchell and Marvin and Ruby Herlong, her beloved husband, John Henry Peoples; three brothers: Irby Joe Mitchell, Gary Dale Mitchell and Jessie Ray Mitchell: by her infant son, Baby Boy Thaxton and her grandchildren, Joseph Varnell and Isabella Norton.

She is survived by her children, Michael E. Norton and wife, Chris Norton of Columbia, Gerald E. Norton and wife, Lizabeth A. Norton of Grayson, John E . Norton and wife, Lezleigh Norton of Wiggins, Mississippi, Sheila L.Stephens and husband, John E. Stephens of Deville, LA, Jessica L. Keeble and husband, Michael Keeble of Monroe and Thomas E. Thaxton, Jr. of Grayson, LA; also thirty-three grandchildren, and thirty-four great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael W. Norton, Daniel Norton, Thomas Wyant, Joseph Wyant, Eric Varnell, Jr. and Michael Keeble.

Honorary pallbearers include Christopher Brister, Maverick Thaxton, John Eric Norton, Jr., and Adrian Wyant .
