Kathryn Louise Posey was born on September 29, 1942, in Harrisburg, Mississippi, to Lucille (Burkett) June. Kathryn was the second oldest of three children and received her education in the Hattiesburg, Mississippi, school district. She went home to be with the Lord on January 20, 2026.

In 1970, Kathryn moved to Columbus, Ohio, where God led her to relocate her family. The first church she attended was The True Church of Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, where Bishop Samuel N. Ward served as the pastor. Under his leadership, she received the Holy Ghost, which was evidenced by her speaking in tongues and being baptized in Jesus' name. Kathryn regularly went on long fasts, often lasting 40 days or more, and had a deep passion for helping souls. Monday through Friday, she would pick up the children from the congregation for a 6 a.m. prayer and scripture-reading session. The scriptures she read included Psalms 20, 23, 27, 34, and 37.

To many, Kathryn was known as the Missionary—always praying and helping others through outreach ministry. The Lord led her to The Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith under the Shepherd of District Elder Hardin and later Suffragan Bishops Dr. Eugene Lundy and Harold Rayford, where she served as a teacher in the Children's Church Ministry (directors Elder Johnny and Marisa Ragin). One of her favorite scriptures was Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all thy heart; and lean not into thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path."

Throughout her life, Kathryn demonstrated a commitment to helping families and children. She worked as a nanny, housekeeper, and teacher aide. For over a decade, she was known as "Nanny Posey" to the Fuer family: Lori, Brian, Eli, and Jack.

Kathryn, affectionately known as "Kat," was a friend to many and always willing to lend a helping hand. She was always soft-spoken and was particularly famous for her sweet potato pies, frequently organizing fundraisers to support the mission.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille June; her sister, Dorothy Henderson; her daughter, Ersla Andrea Posey-Vaughn; her aunt Josephine Scott; her uncles, Lucia Burkett, Robert Scott, William Scott; her granddaughters, Tiffany Love and Erica Archie; nieces Martha Karr and Tuesday Wheeler; her nephew, Daniel Scott; her son-in-law, Michael Vaughn; and her daughter-in-law, Bonita Kuthrell.

Kathryn leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Cherlyn A. Williams, Mary Kathryn June, Sabrina Dukes, Gregory June, Maurice, and Erick Archie, of Columbus, Ohio. She is survived by her brother, Bobby June (Chicago, Illinois).

Her grandchildren include Tanisha and Devon Love, Brandon Williams, Andrea (Harry) Tarr, Erica June, Michael Dawson, Victoria and Richard Harvey, Eric (Whitney) Dukes (Springfield, Ohio), Jerrin, Jevarr, Irvin, Justin, Dewayne Berry, Tre'lyn Dukes, Mikeisha Vaughn, and Andrew Jackson-Archie.

Kathryn's great-grandchildren are Jonathan, Jaylin, and Jayianna Love, Jaylia Knox, Josiah McMutary, Shakhia, Shaquonn, and Shaquille Love, Samaria Charlet, Sara, Elizabeth, Harry Tarr, Kiarra, Tiarra, and Preston Harvey, Tanaya Ludaway, Marcus Edwards, Martamis and Maia Woods, Emani and Sire June Dawson, Aljana, Mynique, Diva, Majesty, Shakear and Nila June Dawson, Zion and Emily Williams, Charlotte Dukes and Eric Dukes Jr. (Springfield, Ohio), Katin Mason, Aubrey and Jeremiah Love, Ryleigh Lewis.

Her nieces are Kimberly, Ciera, Rocky, and Jasmine June (Chicago, Illinois), and Tonya Dove (San Francisco, California). Her nephews are Bobby June Jr. (Wisconsin), Terry Brewer (San Francisco, California), Daisha Dove, and Stanley Karr.
