Kathryn Louise Reeder, age 72, left this Earth by natural causes at her home in Rosedale, MD in the early morning hours of May 10, 2025.
Born in September, 1952, in West Virginia, Kathy was the daughter of Patricia Ann Danison and Rodney Eugene Danison, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Charleston Catholic High School in Charleston, WV. She lived a life grounded in service, humor, and deep love for her family.
In her younger years, Kathy proudly served her community as a volunteer firefighter and paramedic, and was regular at church on Sundays. She worked as a bookkeeper with a few different organizations throughout the years including WM. T. Burnett Holding LLC, and most recently she had retired from Victory Racing Plate Co.
Kathy was known for her warm heart, sharp wit, and uncanny ability to make others feel comfortable in her presence. She loved to make people smile-often through her trademark sarcasm and lighthearted jokes-and she carried a deep, enduring love for her family and partner, John Umberlick. She devoted much of her life to caring for her beloved daughter April, and she was endlessly proud of her adventurous son, Shawn.
Kathy was predeceased by her brother, Russell Danison. She is survived by her daughter, April Reeder of Maryland; her son, Shawn Reeder of California; her sisters, Nancy Lautzenhiser of Dublin, OH, and Martha Maher of Cypress, TX; her brother, Richard Danison of New Braunfels, TX; as well as many cousins, a few nieces, and a grandnephew. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service to celebrate Kathy's life will be held at a later date.
