Kathryn "Kathy" Christine Whitaker, 79, left for her heavenly home after a long battle with health conditions suffered due to a traumatic brain injury in November of 2020.

She was born July 3, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio. Kathy grew up in Columbus, living with her mother, stepfather, and seven siblings.

She was a devoted big sister not only to the seven siblings in Columbus, but to her six siblings in Massachusetts.

Kathy was eventually led to her career as a food service director at Mohun Hall Nursing Facility for over 30 years. She worked there with her lifelong friend, Esther Hoffman and devoted friend, Elaine Minniear.

But her real passion was serving and witnessing for the lord. She was always involved with her church activities, treasurer for several years at Gahanna Freewill Baptist. Then later finding her calling in working food banks, serving food to the homeless; visiting and providing for the underprivileged.

She strived to always share the love of Jesus. She was the Family Tree Leader.

She was blessed with opportunity to help raise her step-granddaughter, whom she loved and gave great sacrifice for without second thought.

She was a beautiful person who was generous to a fault, and her loss has left a huge void in the family.

Preceded in death by mother, Dorothy L. Blanton; step-father, Forest J. Blanton; father, Albert D. J. Asprey; step-mother, Geraldine Asprey; siblings, Douglas S. Asprey (brother), Vicki L. Moore (sister), Randy A. Blanton (brother), and Michael P. Blanton (brother).

Survived by Ohio siblings; Marilyn (Anthony) Featherston, Cheryl (Dan) Cook, Thomas (Pamela) Blanton, Patricia Blanton, Mason (Terry) Moore.

Also survived by Pennsylvania siblings, Emro Asprey II, Kelly (Jim) Smith, Robin (Paul) Arner, Candy (Andrew) Boob, Kimberly (Ken) Soderlund, Gerri Ann (Thomas) Brouse; step-granddaughter, Davinity Whitaker; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Special acknowledgement to Mill Run Care Staff in Hilliard, Ohio, for the wonderful care and friendship.
