Janet Ingram Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ingram Funeral Home - Marysville on Mar. 19, 2026.
Janet M. (Dellinger) Ingram, 82, passed away peacefully and went right into the arms of her husband, Ron, on Tuesday morning, March 17, 2026, at the Ashford at Sturbridge in Hilliard after months of failing health.
One of two daughters, Janet was born on the family farm in Chuckery, to the late Mark J.O. and Mertie Maye (Zwayer) Dellinger. She was a member of the first graduating class at Fairbanks in 1961, and her post high school education came in earning her "MRS" degree, marrying her high school partner in crime, Ronald M. Ingram, on August 23, 1963. What followed was nearly 38 years of love, family, devotion, and orneriness together. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2001, and she has missed him every day since – her last words were of Ron, and how eager she was to see him again.
In early years she worked at OM Scotts before finding her niche as a kitchen supervisor for Dublin City Schools. While raising her daughters, Michelle and Melissa, she was a mom to any kid who walked through their door, and she loved to feed them chocolate chip pancakes and gives prizes for games they played. She found delight in cooking and baking, especially her pumpkin bread and deviled eggs, and could easily feed the neighborhood – she was a very natural caregiver. She found joy in simple things, whether it was "hours" long conversations with her brothers-in-law Steve and Daryl, shopping with sister-in-law, Soni, getting her hair done by Bev and catching up on the latest gossip, or playing games such as bingo, UNO or Trouble with her grandkids. Decorating for Christmas on November 1st was a must – it was one of her favorite things, though the date tended to get pushed up earlier and earlier every year. Janet was also incredibly "spicey" – she could be frank when she wanted to be, and you always knew where you stood with her. She certainly was never shy, and she had a twinkle in her eye for any of the male doctors, nurses, or physical therapists who helped her navigate her health struggles (and wasn't afraid to tell you about it!).
For all of Janet's sprightliness, she loved deeply, and was the truest wife, mom, grandma, and friend. She was quick to show her appreciation for anyone who helped her, even when she felt poorly, and was steadfast with her smile or a kind word. Her whole heart was her grandchildren – she always stepped up to help them and was more like a second mom versus a grandma. Nothing brightened her spirit more than her dedication to her grandchildren's lives and sports, their daily good morning texts, phone calls, and visits. They truly were her everything.
Janet is survived by her daughters, Michelle M. (Steve) Olesen of Goodyear, Arizona, and Melissa M. (Kevin Hamilton) Carlson of Plain City; much loved grandchildren Nicholas (Kenzie) Carlson, Ben (fiancé Sarah Vincent) Olesen, twins Amara and Alexandra Carlson, Peter Olesen, Melia Olesen, and Madeline Olesen; brothers and sisters-in law Mike (Elaine) Ingram of Findlay, Steve Ingram of Milford Center, Kathi Ingram of Marysville, and Susan Ingram of Milford Center; several nieces and nephews who loved her very dearly, and special niece Kim (Matt) Ice who was "her Kim" and her lifeline through these last several months; good friend Judy (Duane) VanDuzan; and many other extended family members and dear friends.
Along with her parents, and her husband, Ron, Janet was also preceded in death by stillborn daughter, Rhonda; special sister and brother-in-law Judith (Ronnie) Scheiderer; sister-in-law Soni Ingram; and brother-in-law Daryl Ingram.
Visitation will be 1p-3p on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Ingram & Snyder Funeral Home, 975 N. Maple St., Marysville, where services to celebrate Janet's life will begin at 3 pm. Rev. James Taylor will officiate, and burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery, where she will be placed "on top" of her husband, Ron.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Changing Parkinsons, 4140 Tuller Rd. Suite 110, Dublin, OH 43017, or in care of the funeral home where contribution cards will be available during service times.
Janet would want you all to know - "Tell everyone I love them. Hugs."
