Kathy Bartling Obituary
Kathleen Mary Bartling was born on April 6, 1959, in Hampton, Iowa, to William and Evelyn (Harken) Keninger. Kathy grew up in Ackley, where she graduated from Ackley Geneva High School in 1978 and then attended Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls.
On December 9, 1978, Kathy married the love of her life Myrln Bartling, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ackley. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, spanning over 45 years.
Kathy lived her life to the fullest through simple pleasures; gardening, bird watching, flowers, coffee, motorcycle trips, attending vintage shows, and the lowa Hawkeyes. She loved spending time with her family, laughing, attending her grandchildren's activities and had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. She was a loving and caring friend, a devoted wife, mother, and Grandma. She cherished her grandchildren, as they were her greatest joy of all.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Myrln, and their children: Andrea (Jay) Longhenry of Cedar Rapids, Travis Bartling of Buckeye, Amber (Jim Storr) Bartling of Alexander, and Dustin (Jena) Bartling of Iowa Falls. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life: Brady Wendland, Kinnick Longhenry, Chloe Wendland, Sophia Longhenry, Carver Bartling, Sawyer Bartling, and William Storr.
She is also survived by her sisters: Luanne (John) Chesshire of Newton, Jane (Steve) Wiertsema of Woodbury, MN, and Jean (Randy) Strong of Hudson, WI, as well as her brothers: Dale (Debbi) Keninger, Mike (DeAnn) Keninger, Jon (Teresa) Keninger, and Kent (Audrea) Keninger, all of Ackley.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Evelyn Keninger, and her parents-in-law, Myrln and Charlene Bartling.
