Diane Rush Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Woodley Funeral Home - Iowa Falls on Feb. 5, 2026.
Diane Rush, 71, of Iowa Falls, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Scenic Manor. She will be laid to rest with a family graveside service and inurnment at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the Hazel Green Cemetery. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory of Iowa Falls is caring for Diane and her family.

Diane Lou Rush was born on July 10, 1954, the daughter of Bernard and Catherine (Greiveldinger) Rush. Diane graduated from Iowa Falls High School.

During her working years, Diane was a librarian at the Iowa Falls Library. Due to her love of books, she cherished her time working as a librarian, chatting with everyone and helping others. If she wasn't helping you pick out a new book, you could find her being creative decorating the display cases.

Her many hobbies included scrapbooking, reading and putting puzzles together. She enjoyed having coffee with the group of coffee ladies. Gathering weekly at her mother's home with many pots of coffee shared, plenty of snacks and endless conversations.

Diane loved her dogs dearly and spoiled them rotten. Giving them way more treats than what they needed. Along with lots of chew bones and toys.

You could always hear Diane laughing and joking around with her siblings and her kids. Sharing many family stories about growing up and visiting her grandparents over in Luxembourg.

As much as she loved being a mother, turning into a grandmother was the best gift of all. Spending time with her granddaughters and grandson happened almost daily. Having tea time that included very special hats that belonged to her mother and grandmother, sleep overs with ice cream and homemade chocolate sauce and playing Mickey Mouse Yahtzee on repeat.

Although her time living at Scenic Manor was short, Diane formed many meaningful friendships with fellow residents and the staff, who she came to care for deeply.

Diane is survived by her children, Aaron Rush of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Joe (Nikki) McDonald of Des Moines, Iowa, Jason (Laci) McDonald of Iowa Falls, Iowa and Cathy (Ryan) Hastings of Iowa Falls, Iowa; grandchildren: Taylor (Andrew), Sabrina (Collin), Lilly (Quintin), Chloe, Carson and Isabelle; great-granddaughter, Beale Lynn; brother, David (Sheryl) Rush of Hampton, Iowa; brother in-law, Steve Krukin of Connecticut; nephew, Matthew (Kim) Krukin of New York; niece, Michelle (Jim) Lenes and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Catherine Rush; sister, Catherine Krukin and daughter in-law, Jessica McDonald.
