Kathy LaShawn Carroll

Kathy LaShawn McGee Carroll, age 67, resident of LaFayette, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at her residence. Kathy, daughter of the late Lloyd Earl McGee and Edna Earle McNabb McGee, was born November 7, 1957 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was retired from Roper Corp. where she faithfully worked for over 25 years. Kathy enjoyed riding horses; gardening (particularly flowers); taking trip to western states; and spending time at Lake Weiss, Alabama. While at home, she enjoyed cooking for family and friends; watching soap operas on television; and listening to classic rock. The family remembers her as a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother – known to family as "Mama Kat," Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie McGee. Kathy is survived by her husband of 27 years, Edward P. Carroll; one daughter, Miranda "Mandy" LaShawn (James) Moyers; one son, Justin Shane (Traci) Daniel; one sister, Sharon (Gerry) Benson; four grandchildren, Blaine (Jenna) Moyers, Leo Moyers, Tristan Daniel, and Sawyer Daniel; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at the Chapel of Wilson Funeral Home - LaFayette Chapel, 1779 North Main Street, LaFayette, Georgia on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at White Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 6-8 p.m. and also prior to the service on Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 10 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home, 1779 North Main Street, LaFayette, Georgia.
