Kathy Layel Earley

Kathy Layel Earley 1953 - 2021 Gastonia – Kathy Layel Earley, 68 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 12, 2021 at Novant Health-Presbyterian Hospital. She was born in Gaston County on July 7, 1953, to the late George T. Layel, II and Mable Brown Layel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Diane Pope, Brenda Kay Grant and Janice Bolick; and brother-in-law, Carol Early. She was a loving and kind wife, daughter, sister, and friend to so many. Kathy retired from Saunders Thread and had worked for JoAnn's Window Shades. She enjoyed traveling to the mountains and to Florida; she enjoyed her time with her family. Most of all, she loved spending time with her beloved husband, Charles. Kathy was a member of Living Hope Baptist Church. Survivors include her loving family, husband of 51 years, Charles Earley; brother, Timmy (Valarie) Layel; sisters, Patricia Aiken, Theresa (Chris) Norman; two loving sisters-in-law, Marie Messer and Hazel McAbee; brother-in-law, Jack (Debbie) Earley; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation for family and friends will be 6:00 - 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 19th at Hillview Baptist Church, 403 Dallas Stanley Highway, Dallas, NC with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 6:30 pm., with Pastor Randy Stiles officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hillview Baptist Church. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, if you feel the need to stay home, a card or phone call to the family will be appreciated.
