Shirley Kay Walker

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley Kay Walker, age 78, of Gastonia, NC, who left us on March 9, 2026. Born on May 4, 1947, Shirley was a vibrant soul known for her love of cooking, yard sales, and clever couponing.

Shirley shared her life with her devoted spouse of 55 years, Jerry Walker, and together they built a loving family that was the center of her world. Also left to cherish her memories are son, Jeff Walker (April); daughter, Candy Shannon (Steve); grandchildren, Stephanie Hensley, Kayla Smith (Nathan), Jerrica Hensley, and Emma Walker; great granddaughter, Addison Hensley; sisters, Judy Waters and Darlene Wall.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Flotella Tilley; brothers, Bill Tilley and Michael Tilley.

She was a cherished member of the Faith Freewill Baptist Church in Blacksburg, SC, where her spirit and warmth will be deeply missed by her church family and friends.

A memorial service will be held to honor Shirley's memory on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the Ranlo Freewill Baptist Church. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place at the same location starting at 2:00 PM.
