Kathy L. Evans age 68, of Gowen, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Corewell Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.  She was born April 17, 1955 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Kenneth C & Louise F. (Sherrod) Chappell.  She loved to talk and put her 2 cents in, having people stopping by the house not just to talk but say “while you are here can you do some work for me”.   She was a nurse for Long Term Care before her accident in 1980 which is ironic that she died at a hospital.  In a nutshell she loved, cared, pulled, fought, believed and most of all she gave what she could. Kathy is survived by her daughter and son in law Kathleen & (Toby) Brewington of Greenville and her son Freddy Rentsman of Greenville; five grandchildren Joshua and Dakota Brewington, Shawna, Courtney and Trinity; great granddaughter Autumn Brewington and 4 others and her sister and brother in law Debbie & (Rick) Dougherty of Grand Rapids.   She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Louise Chappell.  A Celebration of Life will be held 1 PM Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville with members of the family meeting with friends and relatives from noon till the Celebration.  In Lieu of flowers it is suggested that you give to the charity of your choice in Kathy’s name. Arrangements are by the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville, with complete obituary online at www.marshallfuneralhomeinc.com where you can leave a message of condolence for the family.
