Kathy Geminden, 76, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025. She was born on May 22, 1949, to Cecil Woods and Julia (Richardson) Woods.
Kathy worked for years as a senior underwriting assistant but her true love and passion was for her family. Kathy and Steve were married on February 27, 1971, and enjoyed nearly 55 beautiful years of marriage. Kathy was deeply caring and put so much love and thought into every interaction. She loved angels, which reflected her kind heart and compassion. Kathy enjoyed painting birdhouses and crafting homemade cards, pouring care and creativity into each piece she made. Through these simple but meaningful passions, she shared warmth, encouragement, and love with everyone who was lucky enough to receive something made by her hands.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Woods, Julia (Richardson) Woods; her 9 siblings; and two grandchildren Timothy Geminden Jr., and Trinity Taylor.
Kathy is survived by her devoted husband Steve Geminden; children Stephanie (Tory) Taylor, Timothy (Jennifer) Geminden; grandchildren Madeline Geminden, Wyatt Geminden, Charles (Abbey) Martin, Eric (Megan) Martin, Lucas Taylor, Jaxon Taylor, Payge (Ryan) Palmer, Gracie Taylor, Dezeraie Taylor, Nathan Taylor, Trevor Taylor, Nick Taylor; and many great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Kathy will take place from 10:00am-2:00pm on Wednesday, December 31 at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East Funeral Home, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229. Services will follow at 2:00pm with private burial at a later date.
