Funeral service for Kathy George, age 76, of Pickton, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Jarrett Elmore officiating. Interment will follow at Winterfield Cemetery with Donald Court, Justin McComb, Brad Flues, Cayden Barr, JJ Cummings, Dallin Horton, and Brent Horton serving as pallbearers. Parker Cummings will be serving as an honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Mrs. George passed away in her home surrounded by loved ones on Friday, October 18, 2024.
Kathy George was born to Gene Weldon and Marggie Charlene (Davis) Cummings on July 27, 1948, in Dallas, Texas. Gene passed away when Kathy was just two years old, and Marvin Childers stepped in and raised her as a father. Kathy married Charlie George in 1965, in Charlotte, Texas. She owned and operated restaurants in the Wills Point sale barns. She was a proud member of the Winterfield Baptist Church and the Como Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Tina McComb and husband Glenn, Rita Taylor, and husband Brad; grandchildren, Josh Taylor, Ashley McComb, and Justin McComb; great-grandchildren, Makenzie Taylor, Ashlynn Barr, Kimberly Taylor, Jaxson Taylor, Jameson Taylor, Haley McComb, and Kaden McComb; great-great-grandchild Chloe Grace McComb; brother, Eddie Cummings and wife Donna; sister-in-law, Hilda Cummings.
Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie George; her parents Gene and Maggie Cummings; the father who raised her, Marvin Childers; and her brother, Jimmy Cummings.
