Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford
Kathy Harwell McLarty, 76, passed away on Sunday, March 09, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Mississippi.
The Visitation will be held Friday, March 14, 2025, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford (601 Commerce Parkway, Oxford, Mississippi, 38655). The funeral service will follow immediately after the visitation, beginning at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford with Bro. David Ard officiating.
Kathy graced this world with her presence on June 27, 1948, as one of the four children born to Arlene Fowler Harwell and the late Joe Eddie Harwell.
Kathy was Loved by many and a friend to all, and she embodied a fun-loving and free-spirited nature that inspired everyone around her. Her infectious personality served her well as a dedicated employee of the Beacon, serving lunch plates and unsweet tea for over five decades. Aside from her career, her passion for Ole Miss sports, whether it be football, basketball, or baseball, shone brightly as she supported the Rebels with unwavering enthusiasm and pride. Above all, Kathy cherished her family and found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Although Kathy has departed from our lives, her treasured memory will hold a special place in the hearts of her loved ones and friends.
She leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in her absence: her mother, Arlene Fowler Harwell of Oxford; one son, Jay McLarty and his wife Angela of Oxford; one daughter, Brandie House and her husband Kenny of Thaxton; five granddaughters: Miranda Maples and her husband Hunter of Thaxton, Mississippi; Mallorie House of Thaxton; LeeAnne McLarty of Oxford; Kate Pace and her husband Trent of Oxford; Kayla Ivey and her husband Zander of Oxford; five great-grandchildren: Willow Maples, Stone Maples, Kensley Ivey, Embry Ivey, and Mason Pace; two sisters: Donna Adamopoulos of Oxford; Martha Brandon of Oxford; one sister-in-law, Sherry Young of Oxford.
The loved ones who departed from this life before her include her husband, Johnny Mack McLarty, her father, Joe Eddie Harwell, and one brother, Eddie Allan Harwell.
The staff at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is honored to assist the family during this difficult time. Condolences may be expressed online on her Tribute Wall at www.colemanfuneralhomeox.com
