Kathy Moloney

Kathy Moloney, 87, died peacefully on October 17, 2025 with family by her side. She was the dear mother of James (Elaine), John (Rene'), Patrick, Mary, and Julie Pryor (David). Cherished grandmother of Daniel, Anna, Katelyn, Joseph, Michael, Mathew Moloney and Nicholas and Megan Pryor. Great-Grandmother of Addison and Tatum Tretter. Sister of David (Lois)and Thomas Richard (Betty) and Ellen Murphy (Michael).

Kathy was a native Detroiter, born November 6, 1937 to James and Margaret Richard. She was a proud graduate of University of Detroit, Immaculata High School and Gesu grade school.

Most recently a resident of Rochester Hills and Troy, Kathy was a former resident of Southfield for 45 years. During that time, Kathy was an active parishioner at St. Bede Catholic Church, where her children also attended school. The St. Bede community was a foundational part of all their lives during those decades. They made friendships and memories that they cherished forever. Her joy and passion was music and singing in the St. Thomas More church choir. The highlight was their trip to Italy in November 2002 where they performed concerts at the Vatican, the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi, and at Michaelangelo's parish church, San Lorenzo in Damasco, Rome.

Kathy will always be remembered as a devoted mother, and she was also proud of her professional career. She held a few roles working in market research as a recruiter and field interviewer, and she also was a customer service representative for both the City of Southfield and the Michigan Diversified Agency.

The family wishes to thank the staff and caregivers at American House Somerset and Heart to Heart Hospice. Your care and support are sincerely appreciated.

Family will receive friends Sunday, November 9, 1-4pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons, 2600 Crooks (btw Crooks & Big Beaver), Troy, 248-362-2500. Funeral Mass Monday, November 10, 10am at Holy Name Catholic Church, 630 Harmon, Birmingham. Visitation at church begins at 9:30am.
