Kathy Jean Moon, age 68 of Rockwood, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. She was born on February 19, 1957. Kathy was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She worked as a materials manager for 20 years at Chamberlain Memorial, followed by time spent in the hosiery mill as a purchasing agent and then at Roane State Community College also. She enjoyed camping, gardening, flowers, crochet, and she was a fantastic shopper. She is preceded in death by her parents: Robert Hamby & Wanda Wilson Hamby; grandparents: Ruby & Aught Wilson; and sister-in-law: Carleena Hamby. She is survived by:

Daughter: Carrie Newton (Reid)
Son: Kelly Vance
Grandchildren: Zane Capps, Karigan Newton, Eliza Newton
Stepchildren: Jenny Sawyer, Jammie Moon
Brother: Anthony Hamby
Nephews: Zach & Kyle Hamby
Best Friends: Connie & Lonnie Wright
and a host of other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 1:00-3:00 pm ET at Evans Mortuary in Rockwood. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm ET. Graveside and interment services will follow in the New Hope Cemetery in the New Hope community of Rockwood. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mrs. Kathy J. Moon.
