Kathy A. Nevins
Kathryn Ann “Kathy” Gilstrap Nevins, 73, beloved wife of Ray Nevins, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026. She is free to move and dance as she pleases for the first time in a long time.
Born in Greenville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Lou Ellen Raines Gilstrap.
Kathy was a homemaker and member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed reading. She had a deep love for children, and at one point in her life, she opened her home to care for others’ children.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Ray Nevins; her daughter, Leslie Nevins Tate (Ben) of Greer; a granddaughter, Samantha Tate; and a sister, Linda Robinson of Liberty.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, William Gilstrap.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, with a service to follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.
