Kathy O'Hara Obituary

Kathy Lynn O'Hara, 77, of Milford, CT and Peekskill, NY, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 5, 1948, in Peekskill, NY, Kathy was the daughter of the late Robert and Emma Polhill and the beloved wife of Frank O'Hara for nearly 59 years.

Kathy's greatest joy was her family. She poured her love into caring for her husband, children, and grandchildren, and she found her happiest moments when surrounded by them. A devoted daughter as well, as she lovingly cared for her parents during their final years.

Known for her remarkable baking, Kathy's Christmas cookie tradition became legendary-sometimes making over 120 dozen cookies to share with family and friends. Cooking and baking were her love languages, and every meal or treat she prepared was her way of bringing people together.

Kathy was kindhearted, and her gentle nature made her the steady center of her family. She delighted in hosting family, creating memories that will be cherished for generations. Her grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Mimi," were the light of her life, and she never missed a chance to celebrate and support them.

Kathy is survived by her four beloved children: Matthew O'Hara (Trish), Christopher O'Hara (Beth), Jennifer Banks (Keith), and Amy Young (Bob); her fourteen cherished grandchildren: Julia, Madison, Aidan, Olivia, Dahlia, Tyler, Cameron, Jake, Avery, Brayden, Liam, Riley, Jackson, and Lyla; and her three brothers: Robert Polhill (Debbie), David Polhill (Lori), and Bradley Polhill (Laura). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved her dearly.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at First United Church of Christ, 34 W Main St, Milford, CT (please meet directly at church).
