Kathy Parsons, age 73, of Oswego, Illinois, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025.
Kathy was the beloved wife of Joe Parsons, with whom she shared 39 years of marriage built on love and devotion to family. She was born July 25, 1952 in Winnepeg, Manitoba, Canada the daughter of the late William Kenneth and Dorothy (nee Findley) McKay. She was a proud and caring mother to sons Jody Piper (Tracy) and Joshua Piper (Jera), and a cherished grandmother to Alejandra, Anthony, Ryan, and William.
Kathy found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She was an avid reader who never passed up a good book, enjoyed the challenge of a crossword puzzle, and faithfully looked forward to Wednesday night pizza. Above all else, Kathy was the heart of her family, always hosting holidays and gatherings, opening her home, and making everyone feel welcome and loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Maureen Vescelius and Bonnie McKay
Kathy is survived by her loving husband Joe; her sons Jody and Joshua; her grandchildren Alejandra, Anthony, Ryan, and William; her brothers John and David McKay (Evelyn). She also shared a special bond with her nieces Michelle Levingston, Kristina McKay, and Kelly Colley and will be missed dearly by many extended family members and friends.
Kathy's warmth, generosity, and steadfast love for her family will be remembered always.
There will be no service or visitation held at this time, but a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543.
