Margaret Katherine “Maw Maw” Spires,53, of Lee County, GA, died February 24, 2024 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 6:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home. Mr. Ross Powell will officiate.
Kathy was born in Albany, GA on October 15, 1970 to Walter and Peggy Mainor. She lived in the Albany area most of her life before moving to Lee County in 2023. Kathy was a caregiver enjoyed sewing, taking care of people, taking care of animals and being with her grandbabies. She was preceded in death by her son, Walter William Louis Herrin, her sister, Virgie Ann Holmes and her father, Walter W. Mainor.
Survivors include her husband, Herman L.S. Allen of Lee County, GA, a daughter, Samantha “Sam” (Jeremy) Provoncha of Albany, GA, her mother, Peggy Mainor of Lee County, GA, her step-children, Brianna “Bri” Spires of Lee County, GA and Dylan (Reagan) Spires of Camp Lejune, NC and their unborn child, Salem Grace Spires, her granddaughters, Alyssa Provoncha and Eliza Taylor and a sister, Natalie Irwin of Panama City Beach, FL, Natalie's daughter, Jessica Scarberry and Jessica's children, Brandon Scarberry and Presley Scarberry of Panama City Beach, FL.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm Wednesday before the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
