Kathy Lynn Lamb Stokes, 64, a beloved daughter, sister, and mother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at her residence in Staunton. Her legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to family will always be cherished.
She was born on September 17, 1960, in Staunton, to the late Lee Roy Lamb and Armetha Blanche Rexroad Smith.
Kathy dedicated a significant part of her life to serving the public, working diligently for the Virginia Department of Transportation on the custodial staff for their wayside rest areas.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Kathy was a vibrant individual who cherished her family above all else. Kathy was also a loyal Washington Redskins fan and an incredible cook.
She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Brewer; her sons, Michael Wayne Stokes, Bobby Stokes, and James Puffenbarger; her brothers, Jeffrey Allen and Randy Lee Lamb; her sister, Debra Sue Melton; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special family, Jerry Wayne, Jeffrey Wayne, Derek Wayne, Megan Nichole, and Kateleen Nichole Armentrout.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday January 20, 2025, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton with the Reverend Russell Heinrich officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM.
The family will also receive friends any time at the residence of her sister, Debra Melton (60 Dwellys Lane, Churchville, VA 24421).
