Kathy Thompson

Kathy (Hamilton) Thompson, born December 11th, 1955, was one of four children to Joanne and Dwayne Hamilton. She passed on into God's hands on the morning of Jan 6th, 2025 at the age of 69 at home. Moving often, she made home in Michigan, Kentucky, Florida, and a short time she lived in North Carolina.
Kathy did take college courses, but as a school aged child she looked forward to raising a family of her own and helping other people to know the love of Jesus. She was a devoted wife and mother who chose to stay at home to raise her children. She and her husband Ed did an outstanding job teaching her children to be responsible, loving adults and shared Christ's love to them. Later in life she was able to fulfill her childhood dream of being a missionary by traveling to Mexico and the Caribbean. She found her greatest mission to be to her neighbors and would try to spread love to everyone she met, even in the small things such as bringing some cookies or sending flowers to those who were unwell. One thing that she was most proud of was writing a song that God inspired in her heart entitled "The Greatest Gift", which was a Christmas song copyrighted and recorded, accompanied by Carol Gibson.
She leaves behind her soul mate and the love of her life, Edward Thompson. They shared 51 years of marriage and the enjoyment of a blessed and wonderful life together. Kathy leaves behind her children, Roger Thompson and Kristina (Thompson) Lea and her five grandchildren, Logan, Nicholas, Seth, Isaiah, and Autumn. They miss her very much and her fun loving personality that continues to shine beyond Earth. She also leaves behind dear friends Carol Gibson and Robyn Kay. She is survived by her mother Joanne Hamilton and her two brothers Paul and Bruce Hamilton.
Kathy was predeceased by her sister Cindy Halifax and her father Paul Dwayne Hamilton Sr.
We were not ready for you to leave us here in this land and we miss you deeply. We honor you as a sister, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and in all the ways you offered your life by continuing to "make memories" together and "Live Life", as you, mom, told us to do. Save us a seat up there at the table and choose for us the best ice cream heaven offers. We Love You Forever.
