Kathy Marie Walker

Kathy Marie (Burnett) Walker passed away in her home on December 26, 2025, at the age of 82.
Kathy was born on July 8, 1943, to Robert and Ethel Burnett. Kathy was born at their family home in Nevada, Iowa. Kathy married Robert D. Walker on April 5, 1963, in Omaha, Nebraska. With her, Kathy brought one son to the marriage: Jeffrey. Robert also brought three children to the marriage that he had previously with his late wife: Charles, Wanda, and Roberta.
Kathy was a homemaker when the children were small. Through the years she worked at Western Auto retail store and Donelly Marketing in Nevada, Iowa. Kathy and her husband Robert also drove a semi-truck hauling dry freight and U.S. Mail over the road for five years. Kathy finished her working career as a Home Health Aid in Ames, Iowa.
Kathy enjoyed many different hobbies; sewing, painting, fishing, playing competitive bowling, riding horses, raising and showing horses, playing cards with friends, playing pool and riding her motorcycle.
Kathy is survived by her children; Charles(Cathy), Wanda, Roberta(Mike) all of Nevada, Iowa and son, Jeff of Clearfield, Utah; sister Rita(Ron) Gehrts of Tennessee, brother Steve Burnett of Florida; 12 grandchildren Charles, Jami, Cory, Tristen, Raelynn, Desirae, Dustin, Brooke, Israel, Zac, Whitney and J.D.; 24 great-grandchildren and one on the way in May 2026; and nieces and nephews.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Ethel Burnett, her husband Robert Walker, her in-laws Charles and Jesse Walker, brother-in-law Harlan (Audrey) Walker and her sister-in-law Tina Burnett.
Cremation has been handled by Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home and Crematory in Nevada, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, January 30, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. The service will be held at the MACC Center, 84 Main Street, Maxwell, Iowa. Refreshments will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kathy Walker Memorial Fund.
Kathy's final resting place will be at Woodland Cemetery in Iowa Center.
