We brought Miss Kati home October 1st of 2021, she just turned 3 this year. Her name sake, Kati (the og) passed away on Thanksgiving of 2003. It's a very strange moment to be writing this 21 years later on Thanksgiving as well. She brought so much joy to everyone who met her. She gave the best hugs (and yes I literally mean hugs) and would smother you with kisses given the opportunity. While sitting close to you, she would paw at you to give her some extra attention. She was a very needy and loving girl. Kati was apprehensive of people at first but very quickly warmed up to anyone who would give her a treat and a snuggle. While she never quite understood the concept of fetch (she was just starting to catch on) she was more than happy to run along side Rascal. Kater-potater was one of her many nicknames, but the one that most matched her goofy and floppy personality. While some days she drove us nuts by barking at squirrels in the backyard, we'd give anything to hear her again. Kati-girl, Crazy-girl, baby-girl and brat girl were some of her nicknames. Anyone with a fur baby knows how they are truly part of your family. Kati was no different. She was Rascals best friend, Bart's biggest enemy (in a big sister way) and kitten's cuddle buddy. More than anything, she was my dad's dog. That girl just about lost her marbles when he was out of her sight..Miss Kati, we surely did not have enough time with you. You hadn't even started to grey. But we will cherish every moment we had with you and miss you always. Thank you for bringing joy into our lives, it will never be enough but we are so grateful to have been able to love you.
