A Life of Love, Laughter, and Strength: In Memory of Katie Daubman
Katie Ann Daubman (née Lennon), a radiant soul whose life embodied love, laughter, and strength, was called home to be with the Lord on September 9, 2025, at the age of 42. After a courageous seven-year battle with breast cancer, she passed away peacefully at home in the embrace of her devoted family. Born in Winchester, Massachusetts, on October 2, 1982, Katie's life was a profound testament to the power of faith, the joy of family, and the quiet impact of a life lived with purpose and grace.
A proud alumna of Woburn Memorial High School, Katie's passion for learning and her gift for numbers led her to pursue a degree in education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. With her teaching degree in hand, she returned to the halls of her alma mater, Woburn Memorial High School, to begin her career as a high school math teacher. Her commitment to education was profound, and she later earned multiple M.Ed degrees, always striving to better serve her students. Katie had a rare ability to make complex subjects accessible, but more importantly, she was a mentor who inspired young minds, imparting lessons in confidence and perseverance that extended far beyond the classroom walls.
Katie's life changed forever when she met Aaron Daubman while swing dancing. Their connection was immediate and undeniable, a whirlwind romance that saw them married just five months later on November 19, 2005. Theirs was a partnership of profound depth and friendship; for nearly 20 years, they were best friends who were rarely apart, building a life and a family grounded in unwavering love and mutual support.
While her career was a source of fulfillment, Katie's most cherished role was that of a mother. She transitioned from her professional career to become a proud stay-at-home mother, dedicating herself to raising her four wonderful children. Her love for them was boundless, and she celebrated each of them for their unique spirits. She was immensely proud of her eldest son, Eliyas, and took profound joy in watching him graduate high school and thrive in his new job. She nurtured the brilliant, inquisitive mind of her son Spencer, delighting in his passion for reading and science. She deeply admired the compassionate heart of her daughter Aurora, a loyal and passionate friend who feels everything deeply. And she found endless laughter in the playfulness of her youngest, Crosby "Buddy," the funniest and most joyful soul in the family. Her dedication to her family was her greatest legacy, instilling in her children the values of love, compassion, and faith.
Katie's personal interests were as vibrant as her character. She had a creative soul, finding joy in crafting and bringing beauty into the world through her hands. Her competitive spirit and zest for life were evident in her enthusiastic participation in obstacle course races, where she challenged her physical limits and inspired those around her. Throughout her life, her Christian faith was her anchor, a source of solace and strength that guided her every action.
In October 2018, Katie began a formidable battle with breast cancer, which later metastasized to her brain. She faced her diagnosis and years of treatment at Boston's Mass General Hospital with incredible courage, grace, and an unshakeable spirit. She never allowed her illness to define her, continuing to pour her love and energy into her family until her final moments.
Katie's story is one of a life lived fully and generously. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her. She is survived by her adoring husband and best friend, Aaron; her cherished children, Eliyas, Spencer, Aurora, and Buddy; her mother, Anna; and her sister, Kristin. She is also remembered by a large and loving extended family. She now joins her father, the late William Lennon, in eternal peace.
While our hearts grieve, we celebrate a life that was a beautiful journey of faith, a narrative of devotion, and an outpouring of love.
There will not be a formal funeral or service. Friends and family are encouraged to reach out to the family directly for details regarding a Celebration of Life party to be held in her honor.
