Katie Edna Hilty

Katie Edna (Miller) Hilty, age 86, of rural Geneva, IN, passed away at 3:00 PM on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at her home. Katie Edna was born on Saturday, February 4, 1939, in Kalona, IA. To Samuel H. and Katie (Coblentz) Miller. She married Henry K. Hilty on Thursday, August 23, 1962 in Kolona, IA; he preceded her in death on December 23, 2009. Katie was of the Old Order Amish Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed doing crafts and jigsaw puzzles and liked card making.

Survivors include her children -Vernon E. (Leah), Miriam E., Katie Inez, Morris E. (Salome) Hilty, John Henry (Annie) Hilty, all of Geneva, IN, Mary Susan (Chris) Schwartz, Portland, IN, Also brothers-in-law - Elijah Miller, Iowa, Elmer K. Hilty, Geneva, IN, John K. Hilty, Geneva, IN, sisters-in-law - Kathryn Schwartz, Bremen, IN, Susie Schwartz, Ohio, 28 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband - Henry K. Hilty, sister - Susan Miller, Mattie Schwartz Ropp, Oleta Mae Miller, Mary Schwartz, baby brother- Amos Miller, and grandchildren - Harley Jacob Schwartz and Annie H. Hilty.

Visitation will be held at John Henry Hiltys residence located at 4211 E. 1175 S. Geneva, IN. 46740 on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, September 14, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at John Henry Hiltys residence at 9:00 AM on Monday, September 15, 2025 with Bishop David Wengerd officiating. Burial will follow in the Bunkerhill Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Downing & Glancy Funeral Home in Geneva.
