Katie Sarkkinen, age 20, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, in New Waterford Ohio.
Relatives and friends of the family are welcome to attend Katie’s visitation on Thursday, May 18, 2023, from 4:00pm until 9:00pm at Chauvin Funeral Home. Funeral services will also be held at Chauvin Funeral Home on Friday, May 19, 2023, from 9:00am until service time at 11:00am. A burial is to follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Katie is survived by her loving Parents, Jeanice and Timo Sarkkinen; Sibling, Jonathan (Melinda); Niece, Melody Rose; Grandparent, Josephine “Mawmaw”; Aunt, Jennifer (Jerry); Uncles, Horace Jr. (Leslie), Heath (Kim), and Janne; Cousins, Maisa, Nella, Ariel, Brett, Grant (Alyson), Jacob, Hannah (Jake), Abigail, Sarah, Rachel, Rebekah, Heather, Hunter, and Gage.
Katie is preceded in death by her Grandfather, Horace Sr.; Grandmother, Anne; Uncle, Brother Donald Way; Cousin, Tabitha; Paran, Logan Verdin; and her Dog, Kaylee.
Katie loved listening to and playing music, especially playing the piano for Melody. She enjoyed working out, you would never catch her without wearing her hoodie. She especially loved eating her sushi, but most of all, Katie loved spending time with her family and friends. Katie took a great interest in the medical field; she was studying to become a doctor.
