Keyser, West Virginia, Katrina J. (Larrivey) Hummel, age 56, of VA, formerly of Post Street, Boonville and wife of John, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at her residence, following a longtime illness.
Katrina was born at Rome City Hospital, on October 14, 1966, a daughter of Edward and Norma DeVoe Larrivey. She grew up in Boonville, where she graduated from Adirondack Central High School, with The Class of 1984. Thereafter she furthered her education at Utica College, earning her degree in accounting and graduating with The Class of 1987.
In 1992, Katrina was united in marriage with the love or her life, John E. Hummel and they enjoyed their thirty-one years together.
Katrina will be fondly remembered as a person who possessed a very kind heart towards her family and others. This was a trait which also extended over to animals of all kinds. For many years, Katrina and John enjoyed the companionship with their rescue canine friend, "Gretta."
In addition to her husband, John, Katrina is survived by two sisters and brothers in law, Karen (Jeff) Crolius and Kim (Stan) Laskowski, all of Boonville; three nephews, Corby, Jimmy, Michael and a great nephew, Brandan Czajka, who was her pride and joy. Also surviving is her mother-in-law, Irene and sister-in-law, Karleen Hummel and several cousins, aunts and uncles. Katrina is predeceased by her parents; father, Edward, in 2008, mother, Norma, in 2011; two brothers, Keith Jerome Larrivey, in 2006 and Kyle J., on 2016, and by her father-in-law, John A. Hummel.
In keeping with Katrina's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date and interment will be in Boonville Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Boonville Fire Co. Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box #164, Boonville, NY 13309.
