We had just moved into our house on Asbee Lane when my in-laws came to visit. My mother-in-law noticed the name on the mailbox next door. Ables. She remembered an auto accident on the corner of the street where they lived in Mt. Vernon, NY. A man was badly injured. That man was Jerry Ables. Small World. We were neighbors for 47 years. Our first cat came from the Ables.
One of their cats had a litter so, living next door, we adopted one. Over the years when Kay went to visit Susan or David or went on vacation, I would take care of her cats, and she would do the same for us. Kay was a Master Gardener, and she worked hard in her gardens. Since gardening was new to
me, Kay was always there if I had a question.
She was a very intelligent, gracious lady and a wonderful neighbor.
