Kay Leslie Davis, age 71, of Piedmont, Oklahoma, completed her earthly journey on October 16, 2025. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Kay lived a life defined by compassion, strength, and unwavering dedication to others.
Born on October 10, 1954, in Lawton, Oklahoma, Kay was the youngest child of Kenneth and Dorothy (Lawson) Youngblood, a young Army couple. Being an 'Army brat' was an enormous part of who Kay became, forging her resilient spirit. She learned to bend and not break, to care fiercely for those close to her, and to 'never let 'em see you cry.'
Kay's early years were marked by adventure: she flew across the Atlantic to begin kindergarten in Germany, witnessing post-war Europe rebuild itself, and later saw U.S. history up close in Virginia. The final military relocation to Lawton brought a change of scenery, but not a change of spirit. Kay talked her parents into buying a handsome cowboy horse, whom she named Lord Jeff. She successfully taught him how to jump fences at the Fort Sill Polo Club with an English saddle on his back.
After graduating from Eisenhower High School, Kay attended the University of Oklahoma. In Norman, a young man named Chuck captured her heart. She followed him to Florida, where they married, and she worked her way through nursing school. As an RN, Kay found her true calling in helping others and made dear, lifelong friends at the hospital. She did all of this while being supermom to her daughter and son, Shannon and Jeremy.
Life became truly fun for Kay when she and Chuck became grandparents. She loved her grandbabies with all of her heart and ensured a little bit of that 'Army brat' strength was passed on to a new generation.
Kay is survived by her loving husband, Chuck Davis; her daughter, Shannon Nagy; her son, Jeremy Davis; her four grandchildren, Evie Nagy, Jillian Davis, Jude Davis, and Wren Nagy; her brother, Jerry Youngblood; and her sister, Karen Youngblood. Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Dorothy Youngblood.
A celebration of Kay's life will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Crawford Funeral Chapel in Edmond, Oklahoma. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her honor.
