Calais Marie (Gomillion) Ebelsheiser
November 17, 1978 – October 7, 2025
Calais was born November 17, 1978 in Guthrie, OK although she was raised in Edmond, OK and attended Edmond Public Schools. Calais was baptized and received First Communion at St. Johns Catholic Church in Edmond and always believed in Jesus and the promise of Heaven. With her mother, Natalie Godfrey, as her leader Calais was in Girl Scouts for 6 years and camped a lot and sold a lot of cookies! Drawing was a passion of hers, and she was quite good at it, and took several art classes in school. With her build, she was a very good swimmer and was always asked to be on the swim team. Calais attended Edmond Santa Fe High School and did concurrent enrollment at Francis Tuttle Vo-Tech where she was enrolled in the Cosmetology program. As a Junior, Calais was a member of the Varsity Cheer Squad, and they won their division at State that year. Calais had an aptitude for computers and enjoyed doing genealogy research and found several leads in our family's quest to prove our Indian heritage. She was a huge pet lover and was always trying to add "just one more" cat to our house and had a momma cat and kittens when she passed. But of all the things that Calais did, she was most proud of her Children, Chaden, TJ, and Adyson. Despite all of the struggles in her life, she would always strive to do her best to overcome them so that she could be with her kids. She didn't always succeed, but they were the inspiration for her to try. She was-and is-loved and will be missed by us all.
Calais was preceded in death by her grandfather Melvin Cornell (Roanoke, VA)
Those she has left behind are-her children; Chaden Gruver (OKC), TJ Ebelsheiser (Kansas City, MO) and Adyson (Gomillion) Godfrey (Edmond, OK); Grandparents, Karen Cornell (Roanoke, VA) and Wes & Burgess Godfrey (OKC); parents, Natalie (Cornell) Godfrey and Russ Godfrey (Edmond, OK); sister, Cassie (Bennett) and husband Chad Schultheis (Yukon, OK) and brother, Lance Godfrey (Edmond); nephews Justice, Rawlie and Gavin Schultheis (Yukon, OK) and Baer and Roman Godfrey (Edmond, OK); nieces Lahna and Taegan Godfrey (Edmond, OK); cousins Kelly (Martin) Currey (Iowa Park, TX), Luke Martin (Rocky, OK) and Zackery Brake (Chickasha, OK); friend/former husband Todd Ebelsheiser and his family (Ottomwa, IA); life-long friends Michelle (Gardner) Roberts and her family (Edmond,OK) and Amanda Haley (OKC)- her beloved cats "Pretty Girl" and her kittens; bio-dad Norman Gomillion and his family (Philadelphia, MS)
