Kay Louise Hopper
Godfrey - Kay Louise Hopper, 83, died at 5:27 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2026 at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born November 9, 1942 in Alton, she was the daughter of William and Evelyn (Kies) Warren. On November 23, 1963 she married Lyndel Lee Hopper in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2025. Mrs. Hopper was a registered nurse for St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton and then for Dr. Steve Edwards. She retired in 1996. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. Surviving are two daughters, Christine Hamblin (Allan) of Godfrey, Michelle Hopper Petersen (Todd) of Alton, two sons, Mark Hopper (Debbie) of Ballwin, MO, and David Hopper (Harmony) of Lake Villa, IL, and four grandchildren, Matthew, Jordyn, Aiden and Gavin. Also surviving are two brothers, Ricky Warren and Mike Warren (Sandy), one sister, Joan Ducar and a sister-in-law, Martha Warren. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Warren. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2026 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2026 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. Father Steve Janoski will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
