In Kay's retirement, she would enjoy being at home, going to breakfast with retired teacher friends, and lunching with old high school girl friends. She was also always active in some capacity with Delta Kappa Gamma (DKG)---Beta Epsilon, an organization of retired teachers.
Kay was an active member of Olean Community Church where she served in many capacities.

She is also survived by cousins Peg Nye of Orchard Park, Kathy Krott of Olean, and Mike Krott of Bemus Point.
A private burial service will take place in Allegany Cemetery next to her husband Louis.
