David Gumtow Obituary
David was born Oct. 19, 1955, in Olean, and was the son of William Frederick and Mary J. Daley Gumtow Jr. On July 4, 1979, at the Christ United Methodist Church in Olean, he married Kimala M. Johnson, who survives.
David was a 1973 graduate of Olean High School.
In 1978 he began working at St. Bonaventure University in the kitchen and retired in 2021 after about 40 years as a cook.
David enjoyed collecting rocks, walking and watching NHL hockey, especially the New York Islanders.
Along with his loving wife, Kimala, David is survived by two sons, Derek (Elizabeth Sciortino) Gumtow of Franklinville and Joshua A. Gumtow of Little Genesee; three grandchildren, Sidney, and twins Archer and Hannah; two siblings, Mike (Lynn) Gumtow and Jon (Marcia) Gumtow, both of Olean; and several nieces and nephews.
David was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Barbara Mohr on Sept. 10, 2022.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
