Carolyn Kay Robbins, 82, of the Robbins Chapel Community, entered into eternal rest on August 28, 2025, at her home after an illness.

Born in Lee County, VA, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur and Loda Hughes Martin and was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Dan Robbins.

Also preceding her in death were a son, Gregory Allen Robbins; brothers, Danny Martin and Johnny Carson "Bud" Martin; sisters, Jo Lane, Wanda Lundy, and Marcella Holmes.

Kay was a cosmetologist and life member of the Lee County Rescue Squad, where she served as EMT, then Captain, for many years and known by most as "Momma Kay". She was a founding member of the Lee County Amateur Radio Club and a true servant of the community. Kay enjoyed spending time with her family and playing the piano.

Survivors include her sons, Anthoney Robbins of Pennington Gap, VA, and Donnie Robbins of Keokee, VA; sisters, Sue Lane of Carlisle, OH, Barb Dean of Jonesville, VA, Joy Lane of Jonesville, VA, and Sharon Smith of Stickleyville, VA.

Grandchildren, Nikki Robbins of Jonesville, VA (whom Kay Raised as her own), Tyler Robbins of Washington, D.C., Alyson Mullins of Pound, VA, Abbey Robbins of Roanoke, VA, Lily Robbins of Charleston, WV, and Abram Robbins of Pennington Gap, VA.

Great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Moore, Maddison Moore, Wrenleigh Moore, Mia Robbins, Molly Robbins, Melody Robbins, and Tucker Mullins.

A host of nieces and nephews, cousins and other family members along with many friends also survive.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 5:00–7:00 PM at Pennington Gap Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Layne Pennington officiating. Music will be provided by John Britton.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be area EMS providers.

Committal service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home no later than 12:15 for the procession to the cemetery.

Kay Robbins and her family are in the care of Pennington Gap Funeral Home.

Kay was an amazing person and great friend. She was always there to talk to and have great conversations with, she was never afraid to tell you what she thought which was one of her many amazing traits. She will be greatly missed
