Kay is survived by her sons, Donald S. Creager, Jr. and Daryl S. Creager; her daughter-in-law, Donna L. Creager; and her beloved grandchildren, Emily E. Creager and Liam S. Creager. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Peg Burkholder; her nieces and nephews; her stepdaughters, Donna Johnson, Lori Harper and their families; and many others who were blessed to know her.
Born and raised in
Hanover, Pennsylvania, Kay lived in the area for most of her life. Though she loved being near her family, she often longed for warmer days and sunshine. That dream led her and her husband Bob to Florida, where they made their home for a time and enjoyed being closer to his family. During those years, Kay frequently traveled alongside Bob during his long-haul trucking routes, seeing 48 states. She often spoke of both the challenges and the awe-inspiring beauty of experiencing America from the seat of an eighteen-wheeler.
Kay deeply missed her family and the changing seasons of Pennsylvania. She and Bob eventually returned to PA, where she lived out the remainder of her days.
Kay loved her family fiercely, especially her grandchildren. She would often say, without warning and with a smile, "Boy, I love those kids."
Her faith was central to her life. Kay loved God and loved others wholeheartedly. She was an active member of the Hanover Church of Nazarene and York First Church of the Nazarene, now known as Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene, where she faithfully served in children's ministries and sang in the choir.
Kay was a creative spirit who expressed herself through jewelry design, cooking, baking, crafting, and floral design. She delighted in sharing her creations with family and friends and even owned a flower shop at one time. An avid reader, Kay also enjoyed puzzles, crosswords, and a good round of Candy Crush. She could often be found lost in a book or experimenting with a new recipe in the kitchen.
Kay was a source of joy and light to everyone she met, and she carried her warm smile with her until the very end. She will greatly be missed by all who love her.
