Kaye Carolyn (Sadler) Doughtie, age 82, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024
in Murfreesboro, TN. She was born August 17, 1941 in Suffolk, VA.
Kaye was the mother of four boys and the co-owner of the Rutherford County Reader, along with her husband, Pete. She loved to travel, car rides, enjoyed flowers, knitting, baking pies, glass collecting by the ocean, lighthouses, the Outer Banks and her precious dogs. Her family meant the world to her, and she will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. (Pete) Doughtie, her father
Alison Sadler, her mother Opal (Hensley) Sadler and grandson, Patrick Tyler
Doughtie.
She is survived by her four sons – R. Keith Doughtie of Martinez, CA; Patrick L.
Doughtie and wife Kimberly of Murfreesboro, TN; Lee M. Doughtie and wife
Michele of Murfreesboro, TN; and Jay A. Doughtie of Murfreesboro, TN; sister,
Beverly Truitt of Kitty Hawk, NC; Grandchildren – Crystal Brown (Doug) of Old
Hickory, TN, David Doughtie (Vickie) of Mt. Juliet, TN, Mason and Jackson
Doughtie of Murfreesboro, TN, Brendan and Ryan Doughtie and Ethan Pittman of
Murfreesboro, TN; Emma, Nathan and Ashlyn Doughtie of Martinez, CA and three
great granddaughters; nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 5-7pm with the memorial
service following from 7-8pm at the Murfreesboro Funeral Home, 145 Innsbrooke
Blvd., Murfreesboro, TN 37128.
