Kaylinn Ann Scully, 20, of Atlantic Highlands, NJ (Previously lived in Severn, MD, Little Silver, NJ, SHAPE, Belgium, Fort Huachuca, AZ) passed away on Wednesday, October 8th, 2025.

Kaylinn made her entrance in true Kaylinn fashion on 9/11/2005, on route 95, on the way to the hospital in Baltimore, MD.

Throughout her life, Kaylinn always loved a challenge and trying new things. She played basketball in middle school and ran cross country and track in high school. Her endless curiosity led her to participate in a STEM engineering program in high school, where she excelled.

She graduated High School from Middletown South in 2024 and went on to continue her education at Rutgers University, in spite of her love for Michigan football. At Rutgers she joined ROTC, where she was awarded Cadet of the month in October 2024, her first month in the program. This experience inspired Kaylinn to enlist in New Jersey Army National Guard with the 104th Brigade Engineer Battalion, with plans to continue on as an Officer once she graduated and become an Apache helicopter pilot once commissioned.

Kaylinn had an infectious smile and would light up any room she ever walked in. It would be hard to name an activity that Kaylinn wouldn't be up for trying. She loved animals, especially any dog she would come across. Whether in a ball gown or sweatpants, she would always take the opportunity to pick up, pet, or play with any dog. She was passionate about exercising, the NY Giants and Michigan football. Michigan will never have a bigger fan. She was a Call of Duty champion, rummy card shark, and Lord of the Rings enthusiast. Kaylinn loved music and was always excited to show friends and family her newest playlist or talk about a concert she attended. She loved hiking, exploring new places, being outside

Everyone who ever met Kaylinn remembers her beautiful smile, kindness, and easygoing spirit. She had the biggest heart and was always willing to help anyone. Her willpower was strong and she always stayed true to her values and beliefs while still being the most considerate person you would have ever met.

She was always ready at a moment's notice for any adventure or snack whether it was a plate Grandma's Mac & cheese or a t-shirt earning XXL pizza from Pete & Elda's.

Kaylinn is predeceased by mother Candice Roloff Scully (2014).

She is survived by her Father, James Scully, Stepmother Christie Scully, Siblings Autumn Scully, Michael Scully, Avelyn Scully, Nathan Scully, Grandparents Mary Kay Scully and James and Claire Scully, and her dogs, Seamus, Jameson and Gypsy Scully.

For those who wish to honor Kaylinn's love for animals, please consider donating to the Monmouth County SPCA.
