RIP Shipmate! I only recently learned of Keefer“s passing during a Reunion of the Trippe in Charleston, SC and it was quite a shock for me. I had the honor to serve with Keefer during his time on USS Trippe and always remember his humor, smile and "can do" attitude"! One of his friends wrote about his prized Norton and I remember his excitement when he first bought that bike way back when..... Although I had lost track of him over the years, I never forgot him. AS for our time on the Trippe, I learned that when the going got rough, I could always count on Keefer to come through for his ship as well as his shipmates. He embodied those traits and the character that are the very essence of what makes our country great. So, shipmate your passing is not final, as I believe that you will always be with us and I will always believe this of you: 2 Timothy 4:7 - I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Very Respectfully, A.G. Palazzo, CDR USN (Ret)

I met Keefer after he returned home from service. I still recall him riding a green Norton motorcycle. A bunch of us friends would hang out back then. He was a good unique guy. He would make us all laugh at times and he was one you'd meet and wouldn't forget. He will be missed.
