Keith H. Allen

Keith Harry Allen, was a man of quiet strength and enduring kindness, he passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, in the home he called his own for fifty years. Born at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Yakima, WA on January 7, 1949, to Harold and Freda Allen, Keith's life was defined by a relentless work ethic, a sharp entrepreneurial spirit, and an immense love for the outdoors.

A Valley Life and Lasting Friendships

A 1967 graduate of Yakima Central Catholic High School, Keith's roots in the Valley ran deep. It was during these formative years that he built the foundation for lifelong friendships-bonds cemented over decades of hunting and fishing trips. Whether in the field or on the water, his friends remained a constant and vital part of his world.

Keith's professional journey began at Eastgate Grocery while still in high school. After years in the grocery business, he followed in his father's footsteps, carving a path as a self-sustaining entrepreneur. He became a familiar face to local shopkeepers and restaurateurs throughout the Valley as a dedicated distributor of candy and tobacco products.

Partnership and Success

In the early 1970s, Keith met the love of his life, Rebecca. They married on February 5, 1973, beginning a partnership that would span decades and multiple business ventures. Together, they raised their family in Yakima, navigating life's challenges with a shared vision.

Keith and Rebecca eventually entered the hospitality industry, purchasing their first tavern. Through Keith's daily dedication, they built a thriving business, eventually operating two successful locations over 25 years. In his later years, Keith joined Rebecca at the Yakima Public School District. He took immense pride in his 14-year career as a custodian at Lewis and Clark Middle School, where his hardworking nature left a lasting impact on staff and students alike.

The Call of the River

If Keith wasn't at home or at work, he was exactly where he wanted to be: Ringold on the Columbia River. Fly fishing was his greatest passion and, "boy, was he good at it." He spent countless autumn hours casting lines, often accompanied by his close fishing buddies, Perry Lockwood and Kevin Kurz. These relationships were among his most cherished, and the stories shared on those riverbanks will be told for generations. When he wasn't on the water, Keith could occasionally be found at the Caribbean Casino, enjoying a game of 3-card poker or blackjack.

Family Legacy

Keith was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rebecca J. Allen; his parents, Harold and Freda; and his eldest brother, Kelly.

His memory will be carried forward by his family:

· His Children: Sean Allen (Vicki), Amy Allen, Cheri Chatman, and Kevin Allen (Katrina).

· His Siblings: Brother, Kim Allen and sister, Laurie.

· His Grandchildren: Skylar Warren-Allen, Sean Jr., Benjamin, Matthew, and Rebecca, along with many more beloved grandchildren.

Final Wishes

In keeping with Keith's humble and straightforward nature, he requested that no memorial service be held. He chose to be cremated, with his final wish being that his ashes be laid to rest among the steelhead he so loved to catch.

Keith was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend. His legacy is one of resilience, a "valiant" spirit, and the simple joy of a line cast perfectly across the water.
