Keith Armour Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sunset Vista Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematory on Jan. 21, 2026.
Keith David Edward Armour, age 40, passed away in Yuma, Arizona. While he was living in Arizona at the time of his passing, his heart was always in Texas, where so many of his deepest connections, memories, and proudest seasons of life were made.

Keith was born in Tacoma, Washington. From an early age, his life reflected service, discipline, and resilience; values that would later define his remarkable career in the United States Air Force.

Keith proudly served in the United States Air Force from 2004 to 2021, retiring as a Master Sergeant (E-7). He began his career as a firefighter and earned top recognition for excellence in his field, including Vandenberg Firefighter of the Year, 14th Air Force Firefighter of the Year, United States Air Force Firefighter of the Year, and the distinguished honor of Department of Defense Firefighter of the Year.

During his military career, Keith became a Military Training Instructor (MTI) at Lackland Air Force Base, where he trained more than 30,000 Airmen. He later served as an instructor training officers at Officer Training School in Alabama for over two years. Keith also completed an assignment in Korea and served on multiple deployments.

Above all, Keith was a proud father and a deeply caring soul. He was known as a great listener; always willing to help, encourage, and show up for others. He brought humor, warmth, and joy everywhere he went. To those who knew him best, Keith truly embodied the spirit of "life is the party."

Keith is survived by his parents, Cynthia Martinez and Edward (Elke) Armour; his beloved children, Catalina Armour and Joshua Armour; and his siblings: Nicole Sowell, Enedina Martinez, Vasalyssa Martinez, Margarita Salazar, Maximilliano Fernstaedt, Marco Fernstaedt, and Isaiah Fernstaedt.

A service with military honors will be held at 10:30 a.m. on February 2nd at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
